Keep the source PDF and verify the delivery copy
Keep the original PDF unchanged while testing viewer, print or conversion settings. Check the page count and whether the file contains normal digital text, scanned images, annotations or component attachments. These features affect what different viewers can display, search, print or preserve.
Choose a representative page rather than judging the entire document by its cover. Include a page with small text, a diagram and any comments relevant to the task. Browser PDF viewers and desktop applications have different capabilities, so use the intended reader for the operation rather than assuming every viewer will expose the same controls.
Check the final output separately from the on-screen editing view. For a printout, compare paper size, orientation and scaling with the preview. For a converted or compressed copy, inspect text, images, page order and searchability. Save under a different filename and verify the uploaded or shared preview where possible.
